Dear JourneyWoman,

For the past few years, one of my aspirations with JourneyWoman has been to extend our editorial into a podcast. Today, I'm thrilled to share that the award-winning “Soul of Travel” podcast, hosted by Christine Winebrenner Irick, has joined the JourneyWoman family. This creates a powerful forum for women to share their wisdom and inspire meaningful change in travel.

Christine created this podcast during the pandemic as a way to stay inspired about travel and provide a place to share stories about women making a positive impact in tourism. Now starting its fourth season, there are over 120 episodes, with guests such as Celine Cousteau, Norie Quintos, Nikki Vargas, Lola Åkerström and Sara Mansouri. Soul of Travel reaches listeners in over 90 countries with over 20,000 episodes downloaded to date.

In 2022, Christine earned a Bessie Award for her work to support, empower, and represent women at the Women in Travel Summit, which is where we met when I was giving out the JourneyWoman Award. Afterwards, she invited me to be a guest on her show, and we spent a long time talking about our shared dreams and aspirations, which are very much aligned. (You can listen to my interview here).

As we approach our 30th anniversary, I believe that the Soul of Travel podcast is the perfect step forward for JourneyWoman as we continue to advocate for women and extend our reach. Together, Christine and I will work to amplify the voices of female changemakers and thought leaders in travel, and bring more travellers into these soulful conversations, while supporting more women-led, women-owned businesses.
