No apologies: Andrea Bain On Learning to Travel Solo | JourneyWoman Podcast

Dear Reader,

This week on the JourneyWoman Ageless Adventuress Travel Podcast, host Kathy Buckworth sits down with Andrea Bain, TV host, author, podcaster, and co-host of the award-winning Canadian talk show The Social on CTV.

Andrea grew up in a family where annual vacations were non-negotiable. Now, she's trekking solo through Morocco's Atlas Mountains, resetting in Mexico in December, and coming home from every solo trip with absolute clarity on what she wants. Travel isn't a reward for her. It's a lifeline.

🎧 EPISODE 4 with Andrea Bain

Andrea Bain is a Canadian TV host, author, and podcaster. She co-hosts The Social on CTV (weekdays at 2 p.m. ET) and is the creator of the podcast Single Girl Problems, inspired by her 2019 book of the same name. Her career has taken her from the newsroom to red carpets in Los Angeles, where she interviewed icons including Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Martin Scorsese, and Madonna. She's also a passionate solo traveller currently building a solo travel series to inspire other women to see the world on their own terms.

Our wonderful host, Kathy Buckworth, sits down with her to explore:

  • Why she stopped waiting for permission from the group chat
  • The joy of doing exactly what you want, when you want, how you want
  • How solo travel became her greatest mental health reset
  • How to start small if solo travel feels scary

Dear Reader, After finishing my 400 km walk on Spain’s northern Camino, I will admit to feeling both joy and sadness. Joy that I was able to complete this incredible trek, and sadness that it’s over! That month away feels like a gift. The opportunity to walk in silence, see the ocean and get so connected to my body and nature was incredibly meaningful. In the end, it wasn’t just about getting to Santiago, it was about the journey itself. There is no question in my mind that any woman can do...
